Similar to many other emerging technologies, Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology requires testing as well as proficient people to perform this task in order to achieve correct and effective deployment. This fact motivates efforts to build a remote automated system that makes testing easier and help increase the number of people who are educated about RFID. The authors of this paper take advantage of Web technology and agentsystems to (1) develop an online educational tool for RFID, (2) introduce an automated way to remotely control its laboratory hardware devices, and (3) construct an agent-based architectural model to support the underlying system as well as its flexibility and robustness. Moreover, a programming language is designed to enable experimenters to code hardware scenarios and hence, ease the task of configuring the testing setup in the laboratory. An implementation of the developed architecture is presented to demonstrate a real (vs. virtual) testing system and its use to conduct an experiment

Using Interactive Web Animations to Enhance Engineering Education in Thermodynamics
Animation software for an introductory Thermodynamics course has been developed, which is intended to be part of the WileyPLUS platform (John Wiley and Sons, Inc.). This interactive software is unique because each animation is directly linked to a homework problem and no programming is required of the user. The animations are web-based (hard-coded in Adobe® Flash Action Script), so no external computer programs are needed.
